Join a Clinical Peer Consultation group!

After hearing the expressed interest of many clinician members of CPA-NA, the Clinical Support Committee is pleased to provide this listing to help psychotherapist members access clinical peer case consultation groups focused on climate-inclusive/climate aware therapy. We hope these peer groups will allow members to connect with other clinicians, share the internal struggles faced by those doing this work, and consider various clinical challenges. Groups might consider what it means to engage with various individuals and communities, including those struggling with climate distress, those directly affected by climate harms and injustices, as well as those not bringing these issues into our therapy rooms. This is a new initiative for CPA-NA and therefore will be a work in progress. We look forward to your ongoing feedback about how the groups are going and welcome new ideas (and new groups) as we go along.

Please note that these are PEER groups, and as such are not being led by a consultant or expert. As such, these groups do not qualify as a setting for pre-licensure hours for clinicians in training who need supervision. Each group has a volunteer lead organizer or co-organizers to manage the practicalities (emails to members, virtual or in-person platform, scheduling, ideas for group approaches to consider). There is no fee charged for the groups.

Below is the listing of the groups, including contact information for the organizer(s). The groups vary in terms of day and time, location (in-person/local vs. virtual) and specific interest/affinity group/ theoretical focus vs. a more general clinical peer group. Please see which group might be of interest to you and reach out to the organizer for more information and to join!
