Royal College of Psychiatrists Declare Climate & Ecological Emergency
On May 6, 2021, the Royal College of Psychiatrists recently declared a climate and ecological emergency due to the mounting mental health implications of our planetary crises now and in the near future. Given the need for climate-aware therapists across the globe to address the mental health implications, as well as provide the social and psychological support necessary to build the culture of care crucial for both planetary and human health, it has never been more important to use our strengths as climate-aware clinicians in our communities. If you haven't already done so, please consider signing the pledge to become a climate-aware therapist. In the coming weeks, the directory will be open to therapists and Climate Psychology Alliance members around the world. You can read the RCP's position statement here. You may also wish to take a look at the talk CPA UK founding member Sally Weintrobe gave to the RCP here.
