Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Ecopsychology; Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy; Nature-based Mindfulness; EMDR
We all face challenges as we move through life from changes in relationships and responsibilities to major life decisions to trauma, loss, diagnosis with life-changing illness, and the impact of big issues like climate change and social injustice. Therapy can help us thrive through identifying how we want to live, trying on skills and perspectives that can expand our capacity to move through challenges, and growing the supports that root us into community- human and ecological- and feed our flourishing.
I work with tweens, teens, and adults to build a meaningful life in the face of life’s traumas, losses, and transitions. I love collaborating with my clients and their families of blood and choice, schools, mentors, and doctors to support them, their families, and their communities in meeting their needs and feeding their flourishing. My therapeutic approach is based in an affirmative, integrative, holistic framework that combines evidence-based talk therapy (primarily Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) with experiential practices like EMDR, present moment awareness, relating with the body, nature-connection, and expressive arts in the context of a supportive relationship.
I also appreciate the opportunity to provide community workshops on personal and community sustainable well-being, climate change mental health, transformational resilience, preventing burnout, living with chronic illness, and many other topics. Professional consultation, clinical supervision (as a psychologist or professional counselor), and professional development trainings are also available.
I live on and in relationship with the traditional and unceded territories of the Coahuiltecan peoples especially the Payaya, whose name for this land and the Headwaters of our river was the earliest recorded by colonizers: Yanawana, now known as San Antonio, Texas. This land was home to many others including the Jumanos, Tonkawa, and Lipan Apache peoples.
